Spartacus War Of The Damned Triptych Key Art

Developed as a Triptych, these are the final images developed for the Key / Poster art used to promote the Starz Original Television Series, "Spartacus War Of The Damned". These were the main images used for the marketing strategy of the series. The layout was designed as a whole to be broken up into 3 separate pieces for marketing aspects to be used in publications, press kits, billboards, web sites, television commercials, etc. These pieces involved substantial 3D work in creating the background and army and extensive Photoshop work in replacing heads, body parts etc., clipping out hundreds of photos and combining all of the elements into a believable composition. Above: This is the initial matte painting created for the backdrop. This entailed incorporating several 3D renders that were created in Carrara, as well as some from the production unit of Spartacus. These elements were then combined with other photography to complete the scene above.

Above: This is the final version of the matte painting where the warriors have been added to the scene. This was accomplished using Carrara to develop the 3D army as well as hundreds of photos that had to be cut out, lit correctly and incorporated into the scene using Photoshop.
